What is the job about?
The test engineer will be responsible for the functional testing of finished components on the SMT line (electronic boards, wiring, and cable harnesses) and assembled systems.
This role ensures that production is carried out according to the manufacturing order issued by the manufacturing manager. The test engineer is responsible for ensuring the proper functioning of each component manufactured in the manufacturing area.
The test engineer will also support the process engineer or manufacturing director in ensuring that the team of operators performs production tasks appropriately and in compliance with applicable standards and regulations. Therefore, the test engineer must provide the necessary training to perform these activities and prepare legible work instructions for the assigned tasks.
What will you do?
- Generate manufacturing and testing documentation and procedures.
- Review the manufacturing and testing capabilities of the various systems.
- Support the Quality department in audits.
- Perform defect and failure analysis for the production process.
- Program and deploy test environments for systems and electronic boards.
- Manage assigned test equipment and/or manage its construction.
- Lead improvements in process performance and product quality.
- Operate a Flying Probe test machine for testing electronic boards.
What profile are we looking for?
We need you to be:
- Degree in Industrial, Electronic, or Electrical Engineering.
- Advanced English.
- Ability to read electronic schematics.
- Ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently.
- At least 5 years of experience in electronic systems production.
- Advanced knowledge of IPC/EIA J-STD-001.
- Ability to define equipment and process control requirements.
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
- Ability to handle test equipment.
- Ability to use a flying probe machine.
- Proficiency in MS Office (or similar) and other software applications.
- Ability to identify risks related to your activities and operating environment (technical, environmental, human, and organizational factors) and involve all key personnel and relevant stakeholders.
- Be proactive in reporting them internally.
It will be an added value if you have:
- IPC A-600, IPC A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620, IPC-7711/21, IPC J-STD-001 Certificated.
- Specific knowledge in PCB/Electronics CAD Design software.
- Specific knowledge in EASA Part 21 (Subpart G) and Part 145 regulations.
- Knowledge of Agile tools such as Jira and Confluence.
- Handling of electronic design tools such as Altium Designer.
